In 1992 I was due to join the Northern Venture for Denholms Glasgow (Alcanship trading Quebec/Amazon), as ETO and was on my way to Cotswold Camping at Shepherds Bush in London to buy some climbing equipment.
Standing on the westbound Metropolitan platform at Moorgate tube station one Wednesday afternoon in July, a train pulled in. The platform was crowded. As it drew to a halt, directly opposite me, through the carriage window and wearing a blue MNC sweatshirt, was Bobby Khan. We just stared at each other until I woke up and boarded the train. By Baker Street she had persuaded me to abandon my shopping trip and go to the pub with her.
We spent the rest of the day in the Beehive (off Baker Street), exchanging salty tales. We had not met for some years. She admitted that she had not worn that sweatshirt for a long time and only that morning had noticed it in the wardrobe and decided to wear it.
Uncanny or what?

Uncanny story! ...But where is she now? She was one of my students during my teaching days at MNC and it would be good to see how she got on.

I met Bobby coming back from Cairo - we were on the last flight out before the Gulf War started. Been moving oil rigs around in the Red Sea. Sat in Business Class together and had a few drinks or two.
Also met her again once briefly in London - still the same. Good lass.
