On our Worcester e-group there has been some discussion concerning the use of the ship during the years from 1968 until she went to the breakers yard. Mainly at what date did she become completely redundant to the college and when was she last used for accommodation?
Incidentally I was a cadet there 1947/48

Sadly, I think she was broken up. I joined MNC for my Pre Sea Induction Course in September 1977 and she was still afloat moored where she had been for a few decades. I believe the MNC College was built by the ILEA and completed in 1976, when Worcester cadets transferred to the new building. I recall a quick visit to the Worcester given by Tony Vaughen to us newbies, but by the time we came back for phase 1 of our training 12 months later, she was gone. Not sure which scrapyard she went to, but it was probably in the UK - I don't believe she would have survived a long tow, frankly! I wonder if she is still a rotting hulk somewhere?
