80 - 83        MNC
83 - 84        Cole Electronics - Assistant Design Engineer - telephone call centre monitoring equipment, and mains (as in 240v 50Hz) filtering and monitoring gear.
84 - 88        Thorn EMI on contract to the Admiralty Research Establishment at Teddington - Trials Engineer - fitting sonar signal processing and data logging equipment on to RN vessels.
88 - 95        Thorn EMI on contract to the Admiralty Research Establishment at Teddington and then Portland (89 onwards) - Noise Ranging Officer - sonar acoustic signature measurement and reduction for RN vessels.
94                Joined Defence Research Agency (doing same job as above...the contract got terminated and I got "in-sourced")
95 - 99       In 1995 DRA became Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA) - I got involved in "Quality" doing TQM and ISO9000 implementation - 98 became "Sector Improvement Manager" looking after QA for ~1200 staff and ~30 sites!!
99 - date    Change of direction, still with DERA - became the Business Development Manager (effectively Marketing) for the "Aerospace" environment.

Got married to Lorraine (Tim Williams' sister's best friend's sister!!) in September 88 and our first child Matthew was born in 1997. Now live in deepest, darkest Dorset.
