My name is Stephen Charles Walpole, a former m.n. officer who studied at Greenhithe from 1974 where I undertook my induction course in sept. of that year.( I was a cadet with London and Overseas Freighters from 74 to 85.) Our group was the first to be taken into the shore based block in Sept 1975 for phase 1 college training and the second phase was from Sept 77 to April 78. I can assure you that many a happy day was spent at Greenhithe although the local facilities ie pubs were rather limited. I continued through the ranks with various companies until being promoted master on North sea supply boats with BP shipping via the management company Northern Marine Management in 1990. I remained master until 1994 when I finally left the sea after many happy and fruitful years and retrained to become a pharmacist. I am currently employed as a Consultant Pharmacist with Boots the Chemist in Lincoln. Hope to hear from you soon Regards S.C.Walpole BSc(Hons) MRPharmSoc
